of experience we can bring to any project.
Although drawing on the skills and experience of many
different researchers and consultants, the Practice
is based around those of founder and Managing Director,
Marina Pareas.
Marina Pareas BSc, MSe, Dip.MRS
Marina Pareas founded Pareas Associates in 1990. A Psychology
graduate with extensive experience in training and human
resource research and development, Marina worked with
the Hotel and Catering Industry Training Board for 10
years, latterly holding the post of Research and Accreditation
Manager. A member of the British Psychological Society
since 1976 and a Diploma member of the Market Research
Society (since 1990), Marina has also been published
in a number of journals and twice under the auspices
of the NCVQ.
Pareas Associates
is also able to draw on the individual skills of the
following specialists with whom we have worked closely
over a number of years:
Ann Bulleid MIPD
Experienced in training and development practices throughout
the public and private sectors. Ex-Group Training Manager
for Gleneagles Hotels. Consultancy activities include
competence-based training, performance management, assessment
and all levels of trainer training, management skills,
coaching and mentoring, development and team building.
Caroline Runswick Ed, MIPD
Honours graduate with over 20 years' experience in education,
research and training, particularly for NCVQ/QCA and
lead-industry bodies developing industry standards for
accreditation. Associated with NCVQ development projects
since the organisation began and developed the NVQ database.
Extensive work in the area of GNVQs. Formerly with the
Hotel and Catering Industry Training Board.
Peter Critten BSc, DMS, PhD, Lie.
Dip. TEFL
Wide experience of initiating and evaluating training
and development systems. Developed Government-funded
Open Learning Management Programmes.
Senior lecturer at Middlesex University. Author of two
books - Investing in People: Towards Corporate Capability
and Human Resource Management in the Leisure Industry
- An Illustrated Guide. Holds Assessor Awards D32, D33.
Geraldine Locke
MBA
Diverse project management and consultancy experience
over 15 years. Projects included investigation of barriers
to expansion for Tees Valley Tourism, a review of 120
Industry Training Organisations, work with the DTI to
develop a national campaign to promote its Enterprise
and Education Initiative, and research and development
of an interactive study system with funding from the
DfES.
Pamela
Mason MHCI
Pamela
holds a Certificate and Post Graduate Diploma in Education
and holds a number of Training and Development and skills
based awards, including in Computing/IT, hotel and catering,
administration/secretarial skills and is therefore at
home in a variety of different environments.
She has taught in a variety of settings and is an External
Verifier and Examiner. She has had research
interviewing experience through projects commissioned
by the Department for Education and Science (DfES) in
the UK and has evaluation skills developed through training
evaluation and monitoring.
Caroline
Quist
With wide
ranging secretarial skills and skills in the use of
the following applications; Quick Books Accounting,
Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Contribute Macro Media, Caroline
is also a trained musician and worked as a professional
singer/songwriter for 15 years. For 5 years before
joining Pareas Associates she owned and managed a themed
cafe as well as providing book-keeping services for
local businesses.
Mary Hudson BSc
Economics graduate who spent several years working in
BBC Television production and overseas programme sales.
Extensive secretarial experience with leading independent
schools. Skilled word processing operator.
